The Art of Teppan represents the modern version of a Japanese cooking technique from Osaka that dates back two hundred years. Teppan-Yaki literally means “cooking on an iron plate.” This style of cookery is relatively new in the long history of Japanese cuisine. Initially limited by religious dietary restrictions, meat was not introduced to the Teppan menu until the early 1920s.
